In 2018, 113 million people in 53 Different countries suffered from hunger due to wars and natural disasters, partly caused by climate change. This phenomenon, defined “fame acute” and different from “chronic hunger” relating 820 millions of people around the world, affected more states than the 2017. An EU report notes this, FAO and UN according to which others 143 Millions of people are on the brink of food crises.
Of the 113 millions of people suffering from acute food insecurity, two thirds are concentrated in eight countries: Afghanistan, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Sudanese Sud, Sudan, Children. The report was presented jointly by the EU, by FAO and the United Nations World Food Program in Brussels.
