The story of a disabled prostitute who ended up in the hell of the 'garbage' clan’
A deaf-mute girl described to the agents of the Mobile of Catania the unspeakable abuses to which her captors subjected her
Voices from Hell. In the investigation “Bokluk”, culminated yesterday in the operation of the Catania Mobile Squad, that shed light on a trafficking of enslaved Bulgarians, definite “garbage” and forced into prostitution, a dramatic tale emerges, became the architrave of the investigation, of a young deaf-mute prostitute.
She talks about her arrival in Italy (writing on a sheet): “It was the 2017, it was cold and I don't remember the month – he explains to police detectives – I came at the invitation of one of the suspects and I knew I was going to be a prostitute, I did it because, having no job, I had to feed my three minor sons. Emil Milanov, (the mind of the organization, arrested), he contacted my parents to whom he handed over a sum of money. Mine is a very poor family with ten siblings…”.
The details provided by the prostitute are gruesome, ‘muta’, as it is called by the gang leaders, “How much do I earn? 25/30 euros per service, sometimes 50 euro. I gave all the money to Emil to avoid being robbed, happened several times. I go to the place where I prostitute myself at 20.30 of every evening even with the rain so much that I have an umbrella to protect myself…”.
The girl points her finger at Milena Milanova, “the one with the wide teeth”: “She's the one who controlled me, she was often drunk. Once he grabbed me from behind and beat me in the street while I was prostituting myself”. Tender words for a Bulgarian man with whom she had been having an affair: “Yes I know him, we had a bond before, I love him, he accompanied me every night and stayed there with me. At the end of the evening he hugged me, he kissed me when I finished prostituting myself”.
With the police, the young woman who ended up in a safe house finally lets herself go: “In a few months I want to go back to my country, I want to see my children asking for their mother, one is dumb like me…”. Eight people were arrested in Operation Bokluk (three in jail, five at home) and a residence obligation. Involved Italians and Bulgarians. Prostitutes earned from one thousand to 1.400 euros per week, and there were five of them in the street between via Tezzano and the square of the railway station.
