The despair in front of a father who defends the pack accused of rape by his daughter
“My daughter has told you some untrue facts, she was drunk and therefore was unable to understand what was happening”.
They lured her into a trap by pretending to invite her to a party. And she trusted and followed them. Thus began the dramatic story of the eighteen year old: four guys she trusted who abused her and they did not even stop at the screams and tears of their victim. The facts date back to the night between 6 and the 7 February. The carabinieri arrested them on Thursday: two were sent to prison, for two others, house arrest. Another young man would be involved: he would not have participated in the violence, ma, according to the investigators, he would not intervene to stop her.
It all happened in a country house in Tre Fontane. Arriving at the house, the victim realizes that she is the only one invited to the party.
At first everything seems normal. The group drinks alcohol, listen to music. All 21.30 the victim is informed that the other girls who should have attended would not actually arrive and asks to be taken home. She goes to the bathroom upstairs and out in front of the door she finds one of the guys who takes her to the bedroom. The two have a consensual relationship. Suddenly, however, the young man calls his cousin and other friends. The horror begins.
But there is no end to the worst:

To speak in front of the Carabinieri of Campobello di Mazara, in the Trapani area, is the father of the victim. His daughter, eighteen years old, she has just been in the same barracks with her brother to report being raped by what she believed to be four friends. The boys ended up in handcuffs on charges of aggravated group sexual assault.
To say that the victim was drunk and unable to understand and want, in truth, is to admit that the girl has not given consent. So one more point for the prosecution. Not only, this gesture makes us understand the lack of awareness regarding the concept of rape and indeed of consent. If the alleged victim's father considers it normal for boys to have sexual relations with his daughter while he is unable to understand and want, the road to a world that respects our body and our soul is very long. Discomfort and also bewilderment. Beppe Grillo's video and this man's gesture are teaching us the macho mentality that still grips this country.
