L’urlo di Mohammed

In the Kurdish hospital in the city of Ras al-Ain Mohammed 13 years old he has burns so severe that he fears the use of phosphorus. Twenty minutes pass before a nurse manages to inject morphine into the child. He screams, and in all that time, as horrible as the sound of her terrified screams, is the expression on his face: the horror that the sight of his disfigured body causes him.

"Dad, Pope, Pope", he screams at his father in sobs, gasping. “Stop the burning, I beg you, stops the burning!”. Burned from throat to waist.

This is the true face of war, children, always children paying the highest tribute to the madness of war.

A tribute of pain, of blood, of desperation.
